Spotlight: Ys Part 1

Ys is one of the longest running series in gaming. Last year it celebrated its 35th anniversary and is still receiving new games to this day. Ys has finally gained the respect it deserves in the last decade but for a long time it was not like this. The series was missing in action in the West for a long time but thanks to the fan translation community the spark was kept alive for the few that loved this classic series. Now it is not a question of if a new title will be localized but when. Join me in exploring the history of Ys in multiple installments. Most titles in the series have been ported and remade multiple times but I am not reviewing every single version; I am not a crazy person. Someone with more time on their hands can do that.
